BMW 5 Series won silver in the 2011 German Design Award

The new BMW 5-series won silver in the 2011 German Design Award, presented annually by the German Design Council. Of the country's most prestigious awards for product design is one of the many awards already granted several awards for design excellence within the BMW Group Design. Design Award sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and will be presented at a public ceremony on the 11th Frankfurt, February 2011. The presentation is the opening of Ambition, the world's largest fair for consumer goods.

Since its launch in 1969 Design Award in Germany is awarded every year, an outstanding international achievements in the categories of product and communication design, and celebrities from the world of design and up-and-coming young talents. Winners are selected by an independent jury composed of ten representatives from business, academia, design and media, who were appointed by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Selection for the Design Awards are rigorous: All entries must be no national or international prizes, and must be the result of trends and developments in the decisive influence on the future arrangements. Other inclusion criteria were nominated by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and State Senators and Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

The design of the new BMW 5-series deftly translates the characteristics of the original idiom. Pure elegance and presence of a sedan in the highest quality and excellent ride comfort to borrow. Its sporty driving characteristics are reflected in the dynamic lines of his body and the overall impression is that a good sports car. Aesthetic new BMW 5-series has also moved its perfectly balanced proportions and carefully designed details.
The unique quality of the BMW Group Design has been recognized repeatedly by Design Award in Germany. In 2010, these "awards" went to the kinetic sculpture of the BMW Museum (Gold), won the 2009 BMW HP2 Sport Motorcycle (Silver), 2008 BMW G650 Xcountry Motorcycle (Gold), and in 2007 the BMW Cruise Bike (Silver) . For the new BMW 5-series is not the first award this year: in 2010 for its unusual design, but resoundingly convinced the jury of the internationally recognized "red dot awards.
