Added Continental GT Speed's high performance a unique chassis tune that tighter handling and better maneuverability, with new, wider 9.5J 20-inch wheels and performance tires as standard equipment offers. Really light carbon-ceramic brakes are optional. Subtle design touches, including grille and larger sports tailpipes underlines the sporty GT Speed.
Inspiration for the GT Speed came from models of the legendary 'Speed', which first appeared in 1923. The standard Bentley 3-liter, with already established Bentley's engineering superiority over the road, handling and braking, but WO Bentley, founder of the company, recognized the market potential for a stronger version aimed at the enthusiast driver who demanded more power. His answer, 3-liter "Speed Model", together with two SU carburettors and a higher compression ratio engine, became one of the most coveted of all Bentleys.
New high-performance engine is designed for W12 GT Speed, sharing engine efficiency with the GT model. The new lighter connecting rods enhance engine response, while new pistons, with anodised compression ring grooves designed for increased cylinder pressure. Together with a recalibrated version of the new engine management system, the GT Speed develops nine percent more power than the GT - 600 bhp (610PS) at 6,000 rpm.
